Monday morning
Rather than stir naturally from their slumber, they are jolted awake by the shrill screech of the alarm. They scrape themselves off the mattress and apply costumes and cosmetics to corral themselves into a semblance of their workmates. Only the dull-witted inattention of their colleagues retards the realization that they are not what they seem. It is best not to consider that much of the remuneration for their ill-sequenced tasks will be consumed in maintenance of this masquerade. Better to check off one task at a time, in a calming repetition of the cycle.

A Story of Hope
My web site client Southern Mutual Help Association (SMHA) has been doing some astoundingly effective work in rebuilding south Louisiana after the devastation wrought by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005. We've been highlighting some of those stories on the web site, and we added one today about a family in Delcambre, LA, which I am sharing here as much as anything for Jamie Rose's terrific photograph that leads the story.

Men's Fashion
Today I launched a new web site for the Men's Specialty Retailer F.Camalo in Lafayette. The most compellling part of the project was being around all the amazing fabrics and leather used in really top-quality Italian designer clothing. My guess is that for many buyers, the quality of the materials is a stronger attraction than the fashion -- though of course the cut of the clothes in the hands of a great designer itself makes all the difference.
